PROBOLINGGO, KOMPAS.com - Sejumlah warga Dusun Cemorolawang, Desa Ngadisari, Kecamatan Sukapura, Kabupaten Probolinggo, Jatim, yang berjarak tiga kilometer dari Gunung Bromo tidak khawatir dengan status gunung setempat yang kini meningkat menjadi awas.
Salah seorang warga setempat, Rantia (60), Sabtu (27/11/2010) mengatakan, tidak khawatir dengan kondisi Gunung Bromo yang kini mengeluarkan asap sulfatara atau asap hitam tebal yang keluar dari kawa gunung.
"Saya tidak khawatir mas. Ini sudah biasa terjadi," kata Rantia saat ditemui di ladangnya.
Menurut dia, aktivitas Gunung Bromo yang mengeluarkan asap itu merupakan rutinitas yang terjadi setiap lima tahun sekali.
Biasanya, lanjut dia, kejadian tersebut tidak berlangsung lama atau paling tidak terjadi selama sepekan atau sepuluh hari saja.
"Kami di sini tenang-tenang saja. Buktinya kami bisa datang ke ladang menanam bawang," katanya.
Hal sama juga diungkapkan warga Ngadisari lainnya, Yono. Ia mengatakan, sesuai kepercayaan Gunung Merapi masih besanan dengan Gunung Bromo.
"Dulu ceritanya, anaknya penghuni Gunung Bromo menikah dengan penghuni Gunung Merapi. Kali ini adalah acara selamatannya," katanya.
Yono juga meyakini bahwa hal ini tidak berlangsung lama. Paling terjadi selama tujuh hari saja, katanya.
Untuk itu, lanjut dia, warga di sini tetap tenang-tenang saja dan tidak terpengaruh dengan adanya kabar yang menyebutkan Gunung Bromo meletus dalam waktu dekat ini.
"Sampai kapan pun kami tidak terpengaruh dengan kabar itu," katanya.
Diketahui dari pantauan Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG) Gunung Bromo kembali mengalami dua letusan minor pada Sabtu (27/11) pukul 05.09 WIB hingga 11.45 WIB.
Sebelum meletus disertai gempa vulkanik dangkal sebanyak 20 kali dengan amplitudo 25 milimeter. Sedangkan ketinggian abu diperkirakan 1.000 meter.
